Tennessee Women Getting Hype for 2015 NCAA Championships (With Rare Top-Arm Breakout Footage)

The Tennessee Volunteers’ women’s team are shining up their racing skills ahead of the 2015 Women’s NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships that begin on Thursday in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Above, they’d produced a video of their last-minute preparations, appropriately set to the music of Sean Paul, who was a former National Team swimmer and high-level water polo player in his native Jamaica.

Besides the usual fun, there’s actually some really interesting video footage for those more interested in the technique side of swimming than the fun. At the 1:10 mark of the video, there’s a fantastic underwater view of the famed Tennessee “top arm breakout” in backstroke.

Read more about the top-arm breakout here.

Tenn best male backstroker is seeded 3rd in the 200 but he doesn’t use this new breakout! Why not Lo?

You are right! Amazing!!! Their best 100 backstroker is 41st and their best 200 is 37th. Maybe Missy and Pelton should start doing that breakout and they could go that fast?!?!
I have watched Tenn swim and it is not helping their racing.

Their stud backstroker would go 1:36 if he did the top arm breakout. clearly faster and more efficient

^^^ WEIRDO, that was rude. Clearly you don’t follow any of their results. They have amazing female backstrokes.
