There are four children in the Nolan family. The elder of the clan, Kathleen, just wrapped an All-American career at North Carolina. Second in line is the only boy, David Nolan, about to be a junior at Stanford, an NCAA Champion and one of the best high school swimmers ever.

Then came Libby Nolan. She was a track star at Hershey High School, and just moved in for her freshman year at Cornell where she’s on the track & cross country teams.

And then there’s the youngest, Emily: the first of the Nolan children who just might be better known for something aside from athletics.

That’s not to say that she isn’t a phenomenal swimmer. She’s already been 25.4 and 56.5 in the 50 and 100 yard freestyles going into her freshman year of high school.

But man, is she a talented singer. She’s been loading up her YouTube Channel with videos of her covering a lot of hit songs, and they’re really, really good. See the full list here.

So, we asked her to do a special song to line up her swimming life with her musical talents, and above is what she came up with: Part of Your World from the Little Mermaid.

AH-MA-ZING!

And we hear that there’s a version of this song where sister Libby (the runner) plays accompanying guitar, showing that she’s not the only one in the family who is musically inclined.

Keep up with Emily’s latest videos by subscribing to her YouTube Channel, as listed above, or following her on Twitter @emyswimy.

She has an excellent jazz voice. Her best work is the “Man who can’t be tamed” video on her channel because it shows this best. Incidentally, I was also in the choir back in school years. All that hypoxia training didn’t just help my swimming!
