Ryan Cochrane Previews Tonight’s 1500m Freestyle Final – Not Happy With 400 Free

Video edited by by Coleman Hodges

CANADIAN TRIALS – DAY  FOUR PRELIMS

Ryan Cochrane made the Canadian World Championship team in the 400m freestyle on the third night of competition with a 3:47.50; on the final night here in Toronto he’s attempting to add another event with a win in the 1500.

Cochrane is the Canadian record holder, a multi-time Olympic medallist in the event, and the absolute favourite heading into tonight’s timed final. He’s going in with a seed almost 30 seconds faster than his closest competitor.

The only thing Cochrane really has to watch is the time. To make the ‘top 16’ standard Cochrane is going to need to swim a 15:05.16. He’ll qualify for the event however with a 15:13.98.
