Purdue University Gets Verbal From Breaststroker Cady Farlow

Purdue University got a solid pickup with the likes of Fort Wayne Aquatics’ Cady Farlow who gave her verbal commitment to swim for the Boilermakers for the 2015-2016 season.

Farlow is a breaststroker through and through and was a smart pickup by the Purdue staff. Their main breaststroker, Francesca Marr, is currently in her senior year meaning next year they’ll be in need of someone to step up and take her spot on the relays.

Farlow could be the swimmer to do that as her personal best in the 100 breast sits at 1:03.59. She’ll need to drop a second or two if she wants to completely fill Marr’s shoes, which is entirely possible between now and the start of her college career.

Not only will she be important in filling the breaststroker gap at Purdue, but she’s just off being a point-scorer at the Big10 Championships.

Purdue finished seventh at last year’s championships which included a 13th place finish for Marr in the 100 breaststroke. If Farlow can drop a couple seconds, she’ll be right up there and be able to make a consolation final or two.

Overall, Farlow was a very smart addition and could be the prevention of a Purdue breaststroke problem.
