Pitt Adds Verbal from Backstroker Shannon Hochkeppel

Shannon Hochkeppel, from Elllicott City, Maryland, has committed to swim for the University of Pittsburgh class of 2020, saying, “I am beyond excited to pursue my swimming career with such an amazing team who is so focused on both academics and athletics!”

Hochkeppel is a member of Eagle Swim Team, where she broke an 11-year-old team record in the 100 meter backstroke last summer. A Winter Juniors qualifier in botPitt_w_Hochkeppelh the 100 and 200 backstrokes, Hochkeppel is focused this winter on making 2016 Olympic Trials in both those events.
