The Buckeye trio consists of former Big Ten champion Tim Phillips (USA), as well as current team members Ching Lim Hwang (Malaysia) and Dustin Tynes (Bahamas).

Phillips, from Vienna, W. Va., was an All-American swimmer during his time at Ohio State. A current member of the United States National Team, he is set to race in the 100 butterfly event. Phillips’ resume of competing on the international level is extensive, as he has suited up at the Pan Pacific Championships, Would University Games, U.S. Olympic Team Trials and U.S. Nationals. Finals of the 100 butterfly will take place Saturday, August 8.

Hwang, a native of Selangor, Malaysia, will compete in the 100 and 200 freestyle events. An up-and-coming force for the Malaysian National Team, Hwang made headlines for claiming the countries first swimming gold medal at the 2013 Asian Youth Games. For the Buckeyes, Hwang recently completed his rookie campaign, earning a pair of Top 10 finishes at the 2015 Big Ten Championships – 200 freestyle (4th) and 200 butterfly (9th). Finals of the 100 freestyle will be contested Thursday, Aug. 6 and the 200 freestyle will take place Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Tynes will swim alongside the Bahamian National Team, competing in the 50 and 100 breaststroke events. Tynes has registered a standout summer thus far, recently punching his ticket to the 2016 Summer Olympics at the Pan American Games in Toronto. At Pan Ams, Tynes set three national records – 100 breaststroke, 50 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke.
