Michael Andrew discusses World Cup experience, new Adidas suit (Video)

16-year-old professional swimmer Michael Andrew has had a busy fall, not only traveling the country as he normally does, but making numerous pit stops internationally in the last few months, most of which is for competition.

He walks us through his journey of Jr Worlds in Singapore, World Cup stops in Tokyo, Doha, and Dubai, coming home for the Arena Pro Swim Series stop in Minneapolis, and finally flying to Munich early next week for the launch of Adidas new tech suit.

Was he joking when he pronounced Adidas?

He uses the correct(original) pronunciation. The company was founded by Adolf “Adi” Dassler.
Here is a good quote on the matter : “Americans have been mispronouncing “Adidas” since at least 1986, when Run-D.M.C made the brand famous Stateside with “My Adidas.” The hip-hop group and most Americans say the brand name by emphasizing the second syllable: ah-DEE-das”

The more I’ve seen of Michael Andrew over the past 18 months, the more my admiration for him has grown. He is poised, articulate, and humble. With his travel, business dealings, and world-wide racing, he is receiving quite the education. What a fortunate young man!
