Members of Spanish Squad Headed to Amsterdam Cup Announced

The 12th edition of the Amsterdam Swim Cup is slated for December 11th-13th in the Sloterparkbad of Amsterdam, where some of the best swimmers from the Netherlands and beyond will compete for both to-be-determined prize money, as well as Olympic qualifying time cuts.

We already learned of the 7-member squad Great Britain is scheduled to send to the Swim Cup and now the Spanish Swimming Federation has also announced its lineup for the event. Highlighting the roster is Spanish Olympian Mireia Belmonte, who is just returning to competition since recovering from recurring shoulder bursitis which forced her to withdraw from the 2015 FINA World Championships.  Belmonte kicked off her return with an indoor 5k win late last month, which signaled the multiple world champion is nearly back to her usual dominating self.

The Spanish swimmers heading to the Amsterdam Swim Cup were announced as follows:

Mireia Belmonte, (UCAM Fuensanta)
Melani Costa, (UCAM Fuensanta)
Duane da Rocha (UCAM Fuensanta)
Judith Ignacio (CN Sabadell)
Merche Peris (CN Sabadell)
