Meet Keith Haden, Owner and President of All American Swim Supply

Keith Haden, Owner and President of All American Swim Supply, has deep roots in swimming. Passionate about his company and the sport, Keith and his wife, Debbie, travel extensively throughout the U.S. to attend competitions.

MEL: Hi Keith

KEITH: Hi Mel

MEL: What’s happening in your neck of the woods, Florence, Alabama?

KEITH: Getting ready for SEC Championships in College Station, Texas.

MEL: Is college swimming important to you because of your Eastern Kentucky University career?

KEITH: My story is the same as many others. I started swimming around age 9, did the whole club swim scene, then had an opportunity to swim in college. Swimming has been a very important part of my life and has helped shape me into the person I am today. Now, I get the opportunity to help swimmers and teams each and every day.

MEL: Is there any one race you’re looking forward to a SECs?

KEITH: I really like the relays, at all college swimming championship meets. College swimming is driven by the team atmosphere, the team spirit, which is what makes it so exciting.

MEL: What’s next on your calendar?

KEITH: Spring Y Nationals. (YMCA Nationals)

MEL: What’s do you like about that competition?

KEITH: The sheer size of the competition is exciting, and I like the family atmosphere. More than anything else, it’s clear the kids have a lot of fun there. That’s what’s important.

MEL: Your unofficial tagline is I’m just a humble swimsuit peddler living the dream.  How is servicing the sport of swimming living the dream?

KEITH: As I mentioned before, it was my life growing up. I know what the sport does for kids, that it’s a positive influence for all who participate…  And, as a company, we  thoroughly enjoy interacting with swimmers and their families.

MEL: All American Swim Supply has been around for 30 years, but you and your wife Debbie have been holding the reins for seven years now. The market’s changed a lot since 2006, and very quickly. How have you been so successful?

KEITH  Our entire staff really enjoys the fact that we can help our customers each and every day. Swimming is a great family sport and one that you can do for life. We have relationships from beginner swimmers to Elite level athletes and programs to Masters swimmers.

MEL: You see all the new products that enter the swimming market. Do you have any new products you’re excited about?

KEITH: I am excited about a lot of products, but one has certainly captured my attention this year, the Drag+Fly. Several big coaches, respected coaches, are using it and love it. We think it’s the next big product in the sport, one that club teams around the country will want.  To explain the product, Drag+Fly is a resistance training tool. It’s easy to use, and you can quickly set it to different levels of resistance. If you want to build strength and power into your stroke, Drag+Fly is ideal. We’ve gotten nothing but great feedback about the product.

MEL: Let’s bring it back to competition. You mentioned SECs and Spring Y Nationals. Where else will All American Swim Supply be this year?

KEITH: We probably do over 100 swim meets annually as a company, from smaller summer league meets all the way up to larger championship meets and everything in between. It’s what we do, and who we are. Our company is built on relationships first and foremost.

MEL: Thanks for stopping by Keith. See you at SECs, Y Nationals or one of the 100 swim meets All American Swim Suppy will attend!

I worked at All American for a few years and was one of the only ones who got to see firsthand how quickly and successfully Keith grew the company once he took the reigns. He’s a great guy who is really passionate about swimming, and it definitely shows through on the corporate side. I made many great friends during my time with All American, and I can personally attest to the fact that these guys know exactly what they’re doing. True professionals.

Keith swam for my Dad, at Eastern Kentucky University. Keith was a great guy then and a great guy now. Melvin was my teammate at the University of Tennessee . Great to see quality people still supporting and loving swimming and diving. Keith even helps other sports such as youth baseball teams.
