Marah Bieger Commits to West Virginia Mountaineers

Marah Bieger from Columbus North High School and the Donner Swim Club in Indiana has signed with the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Bieger is very versatile, and in college could excel in the breaststroke, freestyle, and IM events. In yards, her best times are:

  • 100 free – 53.69
  • 200 free – 1:54.85
  • 500 free – 5:09.18
  • 100 breast – 1:05.02
  • 200 breast – 2:22.88
  • 200 IM – 2:06.34
  • 400 IM – 4:32.76

The Mountaineers graduate their best breaststroker (Jenelle Zee) after this season, and will have only one year left with their #2 Morgan Emter. That made adding a breaststroker a big need in this year’s class, and so expect Bieger to focus there. That’s where most of her improvement in her junior year came from as well – she dropped 1.6 seconds in the 100 breast in the 2013-2014 season alone.
