The Current, which is the second installment of famed director Kurt Miller’s Make a Hero documentary series will make its big premier on Sunday in Boulder, Colorado at the Boulder film festival. In attendance there will be two of the biggest stars in and outside of the world of swimming.

The documentary includes appearances from Olympic superstar Missy Franklin and Paralympic superstar Mallory Weggemann. Also in the movie will be ESPY winner Anthony Robles, an NCAA wrestling champion who was born without his right leg; Grant Korgan, the first adaptive athlete to ski 80 miles in the South Pole; Afghanistan veteran Jesse Murphree, and professional surfer Bethany “Soul Surfer” Hamilton.

For the film, the above mentioned athletes and their families flew to the Bimini Islands in the Bahamas, about 50 miles off the coast of Florida. As part of the adventure, they were joined by French explorer Jean-Michel Cousteau (son of the even more famous Jacques Cousteau) who narrates the film and scuba dived the brilliant nearby reefs.

Franklin and Weggemann will both be in attendance for the premier on Sunday. Franklin will fly out on Saturday after the team’s dual meet with arch-rivals Stanford.

After the show, there will be a Q&A with cast and crew and a chance for them to meet those in attendance. There are distribution deals being finalized with Fox and ESPN for the documentary to air on TV as well, so everyone should have an opportunity to watch.

Kurt Miller’s father, Warren Miller, was a legendary ski movie filmmaker.
