Luke Cooperman Commits to Minnesota Diving

Luke Cooperman from Warrenville, Illinois, has committed to join the top-tier diving program at the University of Minnesota.

Cooperman is a three-discipline diver, and in 2015 was the Illinois Diving Association Champion on the platform.

At the high school level, he placed 10th last year as a junior on the 1-meter at the Illinois High School State Championship meet for Wheat North High School.

The Minnesota diving program, under the guidance most recently of Wenbo Chen, has one of the better NCAA diving programs in the country. The men’s team has earned 4 NCAA diving championships in its history (most recently in 1996, before Chen’s tenure); the women’s team has also won four titles, though their overall success has been more recent: Kelci Bryan won the 3-meter in 2010 and 1-meter in 2011, and Yu Zhou is the defending NCAA Champion in the 3-meter.
