Lindkvist, Andreasson and Hansson Each Win Three at Swedish Grand Prix

The first Swedish Grand Prix kicked off this weekend in Uppsala. The meet was void of almost any big name swimmers which gave many the chance to step up and collect gold.

One swimmer who took advantage of that opportunity was Josefin Lindkvist who won three events; 50 (26.39) and 100 freestyle (57.33) and the 100 butterfly (1:02.18).

Robin Andreasson swept the men’s freestyle sprint events taking the 50 (23.70), 100 (51.92) and 200 (1:52.44).

Sophie Hasson swept the women’s breaststroke events winning the 50 (32.86), 100 (1:10.98) and 200 (2:33.99).

Other multiple gold medal winners included Irish swimmer Alex Murphy who won the 50 (28.82) and 100 breaststroke (1:04.92) and Jesper Jonsson who won the 50 (25.20) and 100 butterfly (55.37).

Stina Gardell also took the women’s 200 freestyle (2:03.23) and 200 IM (2:15.36).

  • Marlene Pavlu Lewin – 200 backstroke – 2:21.62
  • Jaqueline Hippi – 400 IM – 5:02.66
  • Miranda Arvidsson – 100 backstroke – 1:05.35
  • Michail Papantoniou – 50 backstroke – 26.74
  • Carin Klasson – 200 butterfly – 2:24.38
  • Oskar Ericsson – 200 IM – 2:08.95
  • Erica Dahlgren – 400 freestyle – 4:24.59
  • Simon Wanna – 1500 freestyle – 16:12.79
  • Shauna O’Brien – 50 butterfly – 27.79
  • Axel Pettersson – 200 backstroke – 2:03.25
