Introducing: The SwimSwam ‘Sister Clubs’ Program

In mid-November, a swimmer named Mary Carter from the Cuyahoga Falls High School swim team in Ohio approached SwimSwam about help connecting with another club. What Mary and her teammates were looking for was another club with whom they could become “swimming pen pals.”

So, we send out a Tweet, and eventually, Mary and her team got in contact with Ponte Vedra High in Florida, and the two teams are now pen pals.

We thought this was such a spectacular idea that we’re now setting up a SwimSwam “Sister Clubs” program (open to “brother clubs” as well) to connect other teams who might find value from this.

This can be a way for swimmers to share training notes, vent frustrations, make new connections and new friends, and just generally build community across the world of the sport.

How to Participate:

It’s pretty simple:

Talk to your team, make sure they want to participate, and then leave a comment, using your real email address, and include the following information:

Team name:
Team size:
Males, females, or both:
Team location:
Any special requests:

Then, SwimSwam’s matchmaker elves will go in and match up teams of similar size but from different geographies and put them in contact so that they can decide how they’d best like to communicate (snail mail, email, etc.).

Once the details have been worked out, report back to us, and we’ll add you to our official “Sister Clubs” page!
