Early look at brand-new South Korean swimming stadium for 2014 Asian Games

The 2014 Asian Games will take place in Incheon, South Korea this September, and the event has released preview illustrations of the newest event facilities on its website.

The photo above is an illustration of the pool, which was completed last year. It is called the Munhak Park Tae Hwan Aquatics Center, honoring South Korea’s first-ever swimming gold medalist, Park Tae Hwan. Park won the 400 free in Beijing in 2008.

The Aquatics Center was one of the first completed facilities of the 10 new athletic venues being erected for the Games. The venue will host the swimming, diving, water polo and synchronized swimming portions of the Asian Games, which will take place this coming September.
