Diana Nyad to compete on ‘Dancing With the Stars’ in upcoming season

The cast list for the 18th season of Dancing With the Stars (DWTS) was made official, and record-breaking distance swimmer Diana Nyad is included.

The 64-year-old open water athlete will be one of twelve celebrities competing on the reality TV show, which has had a history of featuring athletes from various sports. In this season, Nyad will compete against Olympic ice dancing duo Charlie White and Meryl Davis as well as former professional hockey player Sean Avery.

Swimmers have been showing off their mad dancing skills on the regular lately, so it’ll certainly be worth watching how Nyad fares in what’s considered an incredibly demanding reality show environment both physically and mentally.
