Denmark’s Former NTC Coach Rollason Now Hired On in Australia

Gungahlin Leisure Center, located on the northern side of Canberra, Australia, has announced the appointment of former leading Dane swimming coach, Shannon Rollason, as the Center’s new High Performance Swim Squad Coach.

Rollason was previously the coach of Denmark’s National Training Center from Spring 2013 until September 2014, when he unexpectedly announced his plans to resign and move back to his native Australia to be closer to his family. Under his tutelage at the NTC were such notable elites as Rikke Moller Pederson and Jeanette Ottesen.

For Rollason’s part, Gungahlin’s website reads that he is looking forward to shaping the high performance squads as well as looking forward to spending more time with his family and being able to shape the direction for the YMCA’s swimming program.

Additionally, Rollason is quoted as saying he is “also looking forward to working across the aquatics section of the business by working with the growing YMCA Swimming Lessons program, Speedo Fit, and taking on a mentoring role for swimming coaches and swimming squads in Gungahlin.”
