Combined Results from Pro Swim Series and Longhorn Elite Invite

We’re just 3 weeks out of Olympic Trials in Omaha, and several Olympic hopefuls are using the Arena Pro Swim Series meets in Indianapolis and Santa Clara, as well as the Longhorn Elite Invite, as their final tuneup before the big meet. Because the top swimmers in the nation are spread out this weekend, we’ve put together a list of the top 5 Americans in each race across all 3 meets to compare where the swimmers are at as they head towards Trials. We’ve also included any top 5 swims from the Tennessee Aquatics meet in Knoxville and the SwimMAC Road to Rio Meet.

Because the schedule for the Longhorn Elite Invite is different than the Pro Swim Series, there are some events that still haven’t been contested across all 3 meets. We’ll do a summary of those events after the conclusion of tomorrow night’s finals sessions.

Still to swim in Austin: 200 IM, 100 back, 100 breast, 200 fly, 800 free, 1500 free.

Still to swim in Indianapolis and Santa Clara: 200 IM, 200 back, 100 free, 800 free, 1500 free.

That 1:02.1 in the 100 breath by Lotche looks like a PB by two tenths.

Wait, so does this mean Phelps didn’t put up a fast enough time in the 200 free to get him to Rio?? D’:

I think there was an interview earlier where he and Bob said that he was going to try to swim a fast enough time in the 200 this weekend such that he wouldn’t have to swim it in Omaha, and could qualify based on that time.

Hard to compare times from indoor and outdoor pools but that’s still fun to do.

Why does it make a difference?

Wind for one vastly affects outdoor swimming, either aiding or hindering the swimmers

To be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised if missy didn’t make the team in anything but the 200 back. That’s really her main shot at a top 2 finish. The 200 free is looking tougher and tougher to make the top 6, she has to be in top form to make it..

So far only Ledecky has a top time . 2-4 for the USA are still (after this weekend) 14-16th ranked . She has as much chance as anyone for that number 2 spot.

Missy is a taper beast, i was looking at her times at Cal last season, she was 147 in the 200 free in season and dropped a 139.10 at NCAAs.

I still stand by my sneaky feeling that Dirado might just pull one on Hosszu in the 400IM.

Bold call. It may take a WR to beat Hosszu.

I wouldn’t be shocked at all either.
If she’s with her after breaststroke, I think she beats the Hungarian in the last 100 meters.

How about adding dressel and the few others that were at Tennessee ?
I know u can’t compare the backstrokes from Santa Clara to the closed venues but it is an approximation. Anyway thank u for compiling the results

TM- I’ve got a couple from the Tennessee meet in there. Dressel and Beisel made the lists. If you’re not seeing some of the others, it’s probably because their events haven’t been swum at the other meets yet. I’ll make sure I get those up tomorrow night when they’re all done!

I know it’s impossible to add times from every meet, but Madison Kennedy went 25.06 at the Road to Rio meet, among others
