Colgate Hires Justin Jennings as First Assistant on New Staff

Andy Waeger has made his first hire as the new head coach of Colgate Swimming & Diving, bringing in Justin Jennings to be his assistant.

Jennings comes to Colgate from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in a move that will see him make the jump from the NCAA’s Division III to Division I for the first time in his career.

Jennings spent 8 seasons as the head men’s and women’s coach at Coe College, and prior to that he spent two years at DePauw University – where his teams won the SCAC Championships both seasons.

He was also formerly an assistant at Carthage College, and spent three summers as a counselor at the Longhorn Swim Camp in Austin.

Jennings’ Coe College women’s team placed 6th out of 12 teams at the 2014 Liberal Arts Conference Championships, and his men’s team was 8th out of 10.

Colgate’s women’s program was 6th at last year’s Patriot League Championship meet and the men were 9th, with both programs looking to climb out of those valleys sooner-rather-than-later under the new staff.
