Chloe Hannam Leads Arkansas to Victory Over Nebraska

The Razorbacks of The University of Arkansas defeated the Huskers of University of Nebraska 174-125 in their first dual meet of the season at Nebraska’s Devaney Natatorium.

Sophomore Chloe Hannam of The University of Arkansas took her first win in the 200-yard freestyle (1:52.95), her second win in the 400-yard IM (4:21.68) and falling short in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:00.68 to place second behind teammate Anna Mayfield (2:00.55).

The Huskers started on the right foot, with Jacqueline Juffer, Jordan Ehly, Erin Oeltjen and Taryn Collura finishing the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:44.53, two seconds ahead of Arkansas (1:46.16). The University of Nebraska also dominated in the 3m and 1m diving, where junior Anna Filipcic earned the team 18-points. Still, it wasn’t enough for the Huskers as the Razorbacks won 10 of 16 events.

Other standout swims for the Razorbacks:

  • Freshman Sydney Angell, won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.06) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:20.84).
  • Junior from Australia Aiden Lister, won both 1000-yard and 500-yard freestyle events in times of 10:21.13 and 5:04.06.
  • Senior Anna Mayfield, previously mentioned, also won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 56.00.
