Kacey Hauck of Snow Swimming and Woodgrove High School in Purcellville, Virginia has verbally committed to the NCAA Division I Campbell University in North Carolina.
Last season, Hauck took third place in the 100 breaststroke at Virginia 4A Swimming and Diving Championships, posting a 1:08.47. She also took fourth place in the 200 free with a 1:59.92. Here are her fastest times: In the 200 free relay, she teamed up with Meaghan Flynn, Kristen Garner, and Keely Hemminger to place second with a 1:41.93. The same four girls were the runners up in the 400 free relay as well, dropping two seconds from their prelims time and posting a 3:43.95. Here are her fastest swims to date:
- 50 FR: 25.20
- 100 FR: 55.26
- 200 FR: 1:56.39
- 500 FR: 5:09.68
- 1000 FR: 10:36.29
- 1650 FR: 17:37.63
- 100 BR: 1:08.47
Under the leadership of coach Pascal Molinard, last year’s Campbell Camels finished sixth at CCSA Championships. Hauck should be able to score some points for the team in the 2016-2017 season. She would have made the C final in the 500 free and the 100 breast.
Hauck may even have a spot on the 800 relay next season as a freshman. Last year’s Campbell team split from 1:52.02 to 1:56.06, and, adjusted for a relay start, she makes the cut.
Hauck is a member of her school’s National Honor Society and plans to major in exercise science.
