Heaven Quintana of the Wolverines Aquatics Club in Rocklin, California and a senior at Granite Bay High School has verbally committed to UC Santa Barbara for the fall of 2016.

Quintana swims for the Wolverine head coach Chris Breitbart and assistant coach Steve Skidmore. She is a Summer Junior Nationals qualifier, a two-time member of the USA Swimming Scholastic All-America team and six-time swimming All-American. Quintana is also an Athlete Representative for the Sierra Nevada Swimming League and a member of the National Honor Society.

Some of Quintana’s best short-course times are:

  • 100 fly – 54.14
  • 200 fly – 2:00.75
  • 200 IM – 2:05.06
  • 400 IM – 4:28.58

Quintana has made steady improvements over the last several years. In 2015 alone, she dropped over a second in the 100 fly and nearly the 3 seconds in the 200 fly. At the inaugural California High School State Swimming Championships, Quintana finished sixth in the 100 fly.  Both her butterfly personal bests would have made “A” finals at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships.

Quintana will join fellow commits Emily Boggess, Melissa Mullis, and Nicola Proctor in the UCSB class of 2020.
