Arizona Wildcats Add Two More Verbal Commitments

Arizona picked up two more verbal commitment’s today. JJ Osborn from the Pheonix Swim Club in Arizona will be bringing his sprinting ability to Tuscon. The wildcats will most likely utilize him for his 50 and 100 freestyle, which are his best two events. Either the sprint backstroke or sprint butterfly could be his third event. Osborn has been 20.7 in the 50 free, 46.2 in the 100 freestyle, 50.3 in the 100 butterfly, and 50.7 in the 100 backstroke.

Arizona finished third as a team at the NCAA Championships last year, and placed 6th in the 200 freestyle relay. All of four splits were between 18.8 and 19.5. Osborn will have the opportunity to learn from and train with the experience Arizona swimmers. He will be a great swimmer to develop and will add to the positive training environment that Arizona has created.

Their other commitment came from Claire Lockridge of Toronto, Canada. She has national cuts in the long course 200 meter butterfly and 1500 meter freestyle. Her 200 butterfly time converts to a 2:00.90, which would have been the second best time on the team behind Ashley Evans.

JJ and Claire will be joining Finnish sprinter Laura Kurki, who will join the squad in the fall of 2014.
