Sarah Greene Sets New Eagles’ Record at Emory Diving Invitational

Emory University senior Sarah Greene won a pair of events at the Emory Diving Invitational, including a program-record setting performance in the one-meter dive at the Woodruff Physical Education Center on Saturday afternoon.

Greene recorded a score of 458.50 in the women’s one-meter dive (11 dives), good for a first-place finish among the five-diver field.  The score surpassed her own previous school record of 457.65, set during the 2011 UAA Championships.  Greene also won the three-meter dive (11 dives) with a score of 442.65.

Also in action for Emory was sophomore Kellen Hope, who finished second in the three-meter dive (six dives) with a score of 235.60, and fifth in the one-meter dive (11 dives) with a score of 372.70.

Other first-place finishers at the meet included Darton College’s Sarah Hoop in the women’s three-meter dive (six dives) with a score of 245.80, Crawford Berry in the men’s one-meter dive (six dives) with a score of 325.55 and men’s three-meter dive (six dives) with a score of 336.55, and Adryan Blair in the men’s one-meter dive (11 dives) with a score of 312.95.

The meet will conclude the 2013 portion of the Eagles’ diving schedule.  Emory’s swimmers will be back in action from December 5th – 7th at the Miami (Ohio) Invitational.
