2015 FINA World Jr Champs Preview – Ryan Hoffer (Video Interview)

At the tail end of a summer filled with big international meets, the World Junior Championships are just around the corner. The championships will be in Singapore and take place from Aug 25th to the 30th. The team is currently scheduled to reassemble on August 20th to travel to Singapore for the Championships.

Ryan Hoffer would possibly be the #1 swimmer in the class of 2016. If he was in it. at just 16 years of age, Ryan is a big part of the new age of elite swimmers that the US will soon be depending on. Hoffer recently destroyed the 2014 short course Winter Jr Nationals, where he broke a bundle of 15-16 NAG records, including dropping 19.3 in the 50 free, 42.6 in the 100 free, and 46.4 in the 100 fly. And to be honest, I think this is just the beginning.

Ryan Hoffer is an incredible underwater swimmer, making him very well suited for short course swimming. However, over the last week at US Nationals, we saw him make great strides in the long course pool with the big boys. He was 53.0 100 fly, 49.8 100 free, and 22.8 50 free in San Antonio, and he’ll be swimming 100 free and 100 fly in Singapore after already having international experience this summer, having gone and trained in Spain and competed at Spanish nationals.

Look to this young rising star to make serious waves in his sprint events in the coming future.

I wonder how US swimmers will handle the double, for some even triple taper..

49.5 and 52.9 would be such a huge step for Hoffer. Finally he is breaking out in the big pool.

Double taper and even triple taper for many US juniors. I wonder how many of them will perform well in Singapore. I’m not sure we’ll see a lot of best times there.

Hopefully something is scheduled on swimswam about Cassidy Bayer.
She’s a strong gold medal contender on fly.
