Through three of four days of the 2014 U.S. Winter Nationals, it’s the University of Louisville leading the combined points for college programs and SwimMAC Carolina running away with the club trophy.
The meet tallies up separate scoring lists for clubs and colleges, given the odd mix of age groupers, colleges and pros that usually make up the short course national championships.
The Louisville Cardinals lead all college programs by just 17.5 points over the University of Michigan in what should be a great race concluding tomorrow. The Louisville men have really pulled their weight, and lead all teams by almost 70.
Meanwhile it’s the UCLA women who are in the lead for their gender. That seems a bit surprising on the surface, given that Michigan and Louisville have both won relays, but the Bruin women are swimming awfully well, led by sophomore Linnea Mack, who has three top-3 finishes so far individually.

SwimMAC leads all clubs, sitting first in women’s points and second in men’s by just a point and a half. Club Wolverine leads the men’s points. Both clubs have been putting together some strong, pro-centric relays that have racked up big points so far.
SwimMAC leads the Lakeside girls by just over 150, while Club Wolverine and SwimMAC are a little more than 70 points ahead of the next-best men’s team.
Club Wolverine doesn’t have any women’s points, though, and are therefore ineligible for the combined points trophy.
