2012 RCP Tiburon Sprint Classic, entire TV show

Event Founder, Robert C. Placak (RCP), presents his 2nd Annual RCP Tiburon Sprint Classic, the fastest sprint swimming competition on earth. Over 22 Olympic, World and National Champions have participated, including Anthony Ervin, George Bovell, Fred Bousquet, Josh Schneider, Matt Biondi, Tom Jager, Dana Vollmer, Ariana Vanderpool-Wallace, Jimmy Feigen, and many, many more. Because of the timing of the event (post Olympic, World and/or Pan Pacific Championships), many elite swimmers make their way to Tiburon, California to enjoy this VIP event. The male winner receives a $10,000 prize. The female competition was held for the first time in 2012, presented as the “Battle of the Sexes.” The top female raced Rowdy Gaines. This portion of the competition was for charity.

Robert C. Placak and Associates Insurance Services is the presenting sponsor of the 2012 RCP Tiburon Sprint Classic. Gold Medal Media, LLC produced the show. Takeitlive provided production services. SwimSwam Partners, LLC worked with the RCP Tiburon Sprint Classic team to promote this elite competition and report the race results. The RCP Tiburon Event weekend includes the RCP Tiburon Mile, the world’s fastest open water competition with 800 to 900 participants each year, supported by over two hundred volunteers.

Charitable beneficiaries of the RCP Tiburon Event Weekend include the USA Swimming Foundation and Hospice by the Bay.

Event coverage and television still photos were provided by Mike Lewis (olavistaphotography.com), Melissa Lundie (melissalundie.com), and Christopher James Thompson. Thompson also captured profile videos and San Francisco b-roll.
