2012 RCP Tiburon Mile, entire TV show

Event Founder, Robert C. Placak (RCP), presents his 13th Annual RCP Tiburon Mile, an open water swimming competition from Angel Island to Tiburon, California, one nautical mile. Over 200 volunteers support this event, which averages 800 to 900 participants each year, and over 90 Olympic, World and National Champions have participated since its inception. Because of the distance and seasonal timing of the race (post Olympic, World and/or Pan Pacific Championships), many pool swimmers test their mettle against open water elites. Male and female winners each receive a $10,000 prize.

Robert C. Placak and Associates Insurance Services is the presenting sponsor of the 2012 Tiburon Mile. Gold Medal Media, LLC produced the show. Takeitlive provided production services. SwimSwam Partners, LLC worked with the RCP Tiburon Mile team to promote this elite competition and report the race results. The RCP Tiburon Mile weekend includes the RCP Tiburon Sprint Classic, a charity sprint competition in a two lane pool. Beneficiaries include the USA Swimming Foundation and Hospice by the Bay.

Event coverage and television still photos were provided by Mike Lewis (olavistaphotography.com), Melissa Lundie (melissalundie.com), and Christopher James Thompson. Thompson also captured profile videos and San Francisco b-roll.
